Project Scope: Staircase and Living Room Refurbishment



1. Demolition and Preparation


  • Removal of existing floor coverings, skirting, ceiling finishes, and damaged plaster.
  • Careful dismantling of old doors and frames.
  • Site protection and dust containment measures in all work areas.






2. Electrical Works


  • Complete rewiring of existing electrical circuits in staircase and living room areas.
  • Installation of new switches, sockets, dimmers, and lighting circuits.
  • Chandelier installation with appropriate ceiling support and dimmable control.
  • Electrical testing and certification upon completion.






3. Joinery and Doors


  • Replacement of existing doors with new solid or engineered doors.
  • New door linings, architraves, and ironmongery fitted to match Victorian style.






4. Ceilings and Plastering


  • Installation of new suspended or plasterboard ceilings.
  • Full skim coat plaster finish to walls and ceilings.
  • Fitting of Victorian-style cornices and ceiling roses.






5. Flooring and Subfloor


  • Screed subfloor preparation for level and moisture resistance.
  • Installation of marble flooring (e.g., in entrance/living area).
  • Engineered wood parquet flooring installation in designated zones.
  • Skirting boards and transitions installed to match.






6. Wall Finishes


  • Wallpaper installation (selected design for feature walls).
  • High-quality painting and decorating to walls, ceilings, and woodwork.






7. Final Decoration and Fixtures


  • Installation of chandeliers and decorative light fittings.
  • Final touch-ups, cleaning, and site handover.
